Oh Snap! Flyer Designs

This is a collection of flyers I've done over the past few years for Oh Snap!, a music promotions group, in Edmonton. I've done flyers for DJs such as Diplo, Z-Trip, Rusko, Nadastrom, Drop the Lime, Nero, Doorly, Skream, Capital J, Dieselboy, Doctor P, South Rakkas, Nu-Mark and Benny Page. Not only do I love doing flyers like this because it's just so much fun, but I actually love all the DJs that come to town. It's like designing for my favourite rock stars.

Cadbury Flake 'Unfold' Ad

Cadbury Flake 'Unfold' is a artistic interpretation of their ruffled looking chocolate bar. At first glance, I couldn't figure out what the surreal object was floating and blowing around was. An octopus? Seaweed? Nope, it was neither. It's a woman covered in over 200 metres of fabric, creating a dress that represents the beautiful folds of chocolate that is the Flake bar.

B. Trait's Digital Soundboy Mix

Yumm0! The blonde blunt banged bombshell DJ B. Traits just dropped a mix packed full of juicy tracks from the Digital Soundboy label. For those who don't know, Digital Soundboy was founded by Shy FX in 2005 for one purpose only - to release music he likes, and he likes a lot of drum & bass. Personally I've been a fan of Digital Soundboy from the second it was formed and have been listening to their sporadic podcasts for years. It's beautiful to see a new mix coming out from them, full of old and new tracks to skank to.

This billboard is surprisingly smart, although probably next to impossible to read from a passing car OR take a picture of it from said car. But, it's still a great idea. So great, i might have to "borrow" it.

The idea of this commercial is simple - visualize the warmth of natural gas by wool and months of knitting and preparation. This a was a 4 days and 4 nights shoot using live and stop motion with 4 different cameras.

Olly Howe, where have you been all my life?

Little did I know it, but a huge influence for me and my flyer design comes from Olly Howe. I've seen his work in flyers splashed around the web, but just didn't know where it really came from, until now. Here is some of his awesome work, plus a case study on how he works. A new year, a new post

Like so many others out there, I'm sure "post on my blog more" is a new years resolution meant to be broken. Alas, here is my attempt at blogging a bit more!

I found this neat piece of recycled furniture on the DesignSponge Blog (http://www.designspongeonline.com/). It's handmade, and awkwardly awesome! It makes me want to pick up a saw, some nails, and a bucket of white paint.
